This is a book with a collection of short stories and poetry. Some ranging to a quick scene to a full plot line. The cover photo is a famous painting by John Singer Sargent that I think works perfectly with the theme of the book. The painting was controversial yet loved. Mystifying yet resolved. Light and dark. Beautiful yet shunned. The French thought of the painting not only did the painting make Virginie Amélie Avegno Gautreau (the modal) lose faces and company but it set John Singer Sargent back. But in America it was loved and cherished and make him famous.
