Matthias, the future replacement of Judas Iscariot as the twelfth apostle, is under practical training in a normal Jewish life, but his life gets interrupted by a call. Before, he has a prospect ahead of being a wise scholar, but soon he would only be briefly known in history as the person who replaced Judas. In THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES, he was only mentioned as Judas' replacement by the Holy Spirit's choice! This brief work goes over Matthias' struggles in the Jewish community with the Roman yoke and concludes with Matthias realizing that Jesus is special.

Marc of Ashes is a re imaging of history as told by a sheriff, drafted as knight, to deliver a secret payload to the besieged city of Constantinople. En route, he encounters Russian Calvary, brigands, Dervishes, giants, Janissaries, and more. In a time of superstition and ignorance, he encounters an accused witch, conflicting a man of science and demanding a heart ruled by law. She predicts his outcome with a single word as they bury the Captain he must replace: 'ashes.' He struggles to reach his destination, only to find one of the most famous sieges in history well underway.
