One was the love of her life and the other well the other was a forbidden love. Will she learn to live or will she always love, that will be something Athena has to figure out. Another way of saying it: The main character Athena is conflicted between two boys as she navigates through college. College was hard as is she was always really ambitious in her school career but of course he love life is impacted just as much. Will she choose to love the person she had always known or will she choose to live on the dangerous side and abandon everything she knows. Being in college caused her to grow and be torn is this difficult choice.
