Romanticised Stories

His whole life was spent romanticising things he thought he could never get. When someone he's gone to school with for years starts disappearing then reappearing as if he hadn't been gone for weeks, his interest begins to grow. Things he thought would never be suddenly were. Update info (?) The chapters, as they change between the two main characters, have slightly different styles. Along with that, one persons pov is past tense and the others is present tense. Every other chapter is the same character. I don't change pov halfway through a chapter, nor do I skip over a character's chapter. Chapters are relatively short, usually between 2,600 and 3,000 words. Time passes very quickly, sometimes months or years going by in just one chapter. Texts between the two typically means a time skip, though it may not always be clear how much time the time skip accounts for and it may not be a time skip at all. In general this can get very confusing. It's mostly about paying attention to the smaller details, reading between the lines. There are little secrets everywhere and they stick out easily. Some things will hint at what is talked about in the next chapter, as well.
