Kayla Zaro, an eleven-year-old Jedi youngling, survived Order 66 thanks to Master Eeko-Dio Daki and Devon Izara, who rescued her from the fall of the Jedi Temple. Fleeing the Empire, they went into hiding on the remote planet Janix, where Kayla was trained in secret while learning to suppress her presence in the Force. As the Empire tightened its grip on the galaxy, a strange and unsettling presence began to call out to her through the Force. What starts as a faint pull soon grows stronger-until Kayla realizes it is not the Empire that has found her. It is Maul.

However, one of his allies, Rook Kast, who has exhibited fanatical loyalty and reverence towards the former Sith Lord, may in fact become something more than just another disposable pawn in his designs.
