This is a transformative piece of fan fiction set in the Harry Potter universe several years after the defeat of Voldemort. It centres on Lorcan Scamander, one of the twin sons of Luna Lovegood and Rolf Scamander, as he navigates his identity and a burgeoning purist threat at Hogwarts. The story begins with Lorcan and his twin brother, Lysander, arriving at Hogwarts for their first year. While Lysander is a cheerful boy sorted into Ravenclaw, Lorcan is more troubled and finds himself placed in Hufflepuff. Guided by a supportive Professor McGonagall and a friendly half-blood witch named Anneka, Lori-as Lorcan chooses to be known- begins to transition and live as her true self within the castle. However, her journey is complicated by a hostile figure in a magical mirror who challenges Lori's right to identify as a girl. As Lori struggles with these internal and external conflicts, she also becomes aware of a dangerous plot by magical purists. These antagonists aim to use a hidden artifact to target anyone who is not a "pure-blood," forcing Lori to make significant personal sacrifices to protect her community and the school.
