In the Rocksprings village, someone wants to kill Marianne and Christoph, which is a pretty hard thing to do with the tattoos on both their bodies and Christophe's ability to do magic. Before her death,Marianne's grandmother foresaw a disaster which was to occur when marrianne immediately turns 18 years.Teenage virgin girls are being raped and brutally beaten in a ritual manner and predictable pattern and left for death .Marianne's tattoo also despite being of help to her,it activates when she gets angry and makes her terribly sick which happens only when Christophe is around and heals at Christophe's touch. As cliché as it may sound,Marianne falls in love with Christophe. Even when Christophe has never shown her his real face, she feels a certain bond with him which only she acknowledges. She has always had a crush on him, which isn't just a crush anymore Christophe knows he is to marry a girl with a rose tattoo(thanks to his grandmother too),so when he meets Asker,Marianne's jealous big sister, who happens to have a fake tattoo thanks to Christophe's father,he feels he's obligated to love her for destiny's which he can't do. Marianne is adopted. Her foster mother who happens to be her number one enemy ,talks her to suicide during hypnosis, which she tries before the beginning of the book but fails. Welcome to Christophe and Marianne's saga
