Rose is a young adult but she is a dhampir. That means she is half human and half vampire. She is in love with her mentor Dimitri Belikov, who is six years older than her. Her best friend is Lisa Dragomir and she is moroi and queen. But after everything they have been through, something happen.

Rose is in year 17 so is put into year 13 and is in her last year of sixth form (I'm English and don't know the grades and senior stuff and all that sorry, but basically she's going to be turning 18 in that year) Dimitri Belikov is a well known guardian, assigned to protect Vasilisa Dragomir at st Vladamirs academy. Will their paths cross with roses at st Vladamirs? Can rose afford to fall in love? Can she afford to make friends?
