They looked at them like they were expendable. So, if the earth was still simmering in radiation, leading one hundred teenagers to their deaths, the Ark wouldn't be at a loss. Although, they were wrong. The ground wasn't uninhabited-and The Grounders weren't too happy with the people of the sky landing on their territory.
