Lei è un Prefetto, mentre lui Caposcuola, eppure non hanno mai avuto occasione di parlarsi in tutti quei anni, soprattutto a causa del comportamento piuttosto riservato ma arrogante di Malfoy. L'occasione si presenta quando i Professori incaricano i Capiscuola e i Prefetti a collaborare nell'organizzazione di un programma di scambio culturale con le varie scuole d'Europa e America.
