You know the story of The Great Comet of 1812. But what you don't know is the story of Sariya Kuragin, Anatole's wife. Sariya is a young girl in love with a charming young man who one day appears injured and in need at her door. There is nothing she wants more than to be with him and be happy. When Sariya's father comes home and discovers a bleeding Anatole being cared for by his youngest daughter, he forces the two to be married, much to Sariya's delight. They move to Moscow to be with Anatole's family. But then everything goes wrong.
