Jake has always dreamed of being a singer, and he's a pretty good one. But in order to fit in with his mean-spirited friends, he partakes in picking on the music club members, all the while secretly mourning for an escape to be himself and sing to his heart's content. Except that the Music Club need an extra member to be able to enter a future Competition. Jake is encouraged by Daisy to join the Music Club. So, he proceeds to join it hoping to see Cherry again, his best friend whom he has avoided since she joined the music club . This is a story of romance, catchy songs, and friendship.

The story revolves around Jake Sterling, a high school student with a passion for singing who hides it due to past bullying. In an attempt to join a music club without revealing his true motivations, Jake fabricates a story about joining for a girl named Daisy. His friends, Drew, Henry, and Liam, who often mock the music club, create tension. The music club, comprising Millie, Hailey, Sean, Zander, and Luke, reluctantly accepts Jake. As Jake navigates his dual life, tensions rise, and the fragile balance between his old friends and newfound passion unravels. Drew's hidden crush on Jake adds complexity, leading to a confrontation. Eventually, Jake finds himself torn between the love for music and the fear of losing old friendships, culminating in a bittersweet conclusion as the threads connecting his worlds fray and break.
