No body saw it coming. And nobody knew exactly how it started. It was much different than the books or the movies. It was spread by touch and wasn't quite the end of the world, really just the end of my social life.

It's been five years since the rotter outbreak took over the world, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Cassie has been by herself for even longer. At least until she met Lou, a little boy orphaned by the apocalypse. Now as Cassie struggles to protect her small companion, she must work with Red, the leader of Akinson, to uncover a traitor within the camp. As the danger in Akinson increases, Cassie must choose between Lou's safety and her own heart. *This is an ongoing story, and it should be updated every Wednesday unless specified otherwise*

This apocalypse is different. It's not like what you see in shows or movies. The Rotting are smart. They can smell you, hear you, see you, better then you can to them. More then half of the population is either dead or have turned. The very little of the population that have survived are staying in a dome. Including my boyfriend Will, my best friend Julie, her boyfriend Jackson, and I have barely scraped by. Everyone from our childhood and everyone we have known are gone except for the four of us and a couple other hundred people. We don't even know if the dome will hold up any longer with the Rotters out there. I'm not even sure if we can hold up any longer.

Jack is a 15 year old boy who has had to live in a post apocalyptic world full of zombies (or rotters as he calls them), starvation, and the threat of becoming one of them. He was trying to rid the city he was living in of Rotters, until he meets a girl named Kody, and learns that a hoard has just breached the city. He decides that it is no longer safe and decides (with the help of Kody) to leave.
