In a world where Fae, Demi-Fae, Crochans, Ironteeth Witches, Humans and Shifters live in peace, people easily forget about the war 20 years ago, but then there are the people who were on the front lines in the war, or a commander sending mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers into war. Let's take my family for example, my mum and dad were on the front line, it was probably the hardest war my dad and "Uncles and an Auntie" had fought in many wars prior. Now you may be wondering who and what I am. Well, I'm a fae and I'm a princess but also a hardened warrior. Now I've told you that I'm royalty, you may be wondering which royal family do I belong to, well I belong to the Terrasen household. My mum is Queen Aelin Galathynius Whitethorn and my father Consort to my mum is none other than Rowan Galathynius Whitethorn. -Info on the Night court to come. I have yet to figure their stuff out-

It has been ten years since Aelin and Rowan were finally freed from the burden of war. Terrasen has recovered and its rebuilding process has finished with the citizens admiring their new queen, Aelin Galathynius. But there are some scars of war that can't be healed fully. Aelin and her court still mourn the loss of the Thirteen and their fearless leader, Manon. However, when Aelin and Rowan take their young daughter out on a walk through Oakwald forest, a portal opens up, sending them into the Night Court. It is there where they meet the Inner Circle, Feyre, Rhysand, and their young child, Nyx. So I have a couple headcanons I'd like to share or write out. Their probably gonna be "What if"s but whatever it's happening.

Before the quest to put the keys back in the lock, before Aelin is captured by Maeve, she experiences one of her worse dreams from Endovier. This is when Rowan and Aelin shared a room on Rolfe's, and the only part of Endovier Rowan knows still effects her are the pitch black cells in the mines.

"I don't believe you, by the way." I say, watching him closely. He takes a step closer to me as he begins to fall in with the dances, pulling me closer to him. "About what, exactly?" Fenrys asks, leaning in closer so I can hear him. There is a reckless look in his eyes, something fierce lies within. This is much different than what I have heard of his cadre, the stories always describe them as stoic, emotionless warriors sworn through blood-oath to the queen. He is different, more wild it would seem; perhaps he is younger? "That you are only here for condolences. Maeve could have sent those gifts on a ship with an advisor, why send one of her warriors?" He watches me closely, not pulling any farther away. "You are observant." He continues to spin me, it is only then I notice how far we have gone from the sight of the Khaganate. "Maeve is in search of something, or someone, and I believe your powerful friends already suspect this." I push down any panic, any fear that knots the pit of my stomach. "I believe I am close to finding it." I smile at him, continuing to move through the dances. "May Silba bring you luck in finding what you are looking for, then." He studies my eyes before slowly nodding. The song comes to an end, I bow to him and casually walk over to Yrene. She looks to me, immediately noticing the panicked look in my eyes. "I'm feeling a bit unwell, perhaps we should head back?" Sartaq immediately looks to me, worry flashing in his own eyes. "Yes, of course." Yrene says, standing and linking her arm in my own. Sartaq rises with us, placing a hand on the small of both of our backs and guiding us to the door. "I will call the carriage, come with me."

***PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT ANYTHING (update in 2018): I started this fanfic three years ago, BEFORE QUEEN OF SHADOWS WAS RELEASED. Therefore, PLEASE stop commenting about how I don't know what happened in Queen of Shadows and Empire of Storms, or how my story ignores that. The war is over, and Aelin has restored the mighty kingdom of Terrasen, building a new city and a new palace, with a new court that included her most trusted members, Aedion Ashryver and Rowan Whitethorn. Since Dorian is the King now, Aelin decides to visit Adarlan to discuss treaties, and also to visit him. Rowan is to join her, while Aedion is staying back. Reunited with Chaol Westfall, the handsome Captain of the Guard and an old romantic interest of Aelin's, the spark between them might just reignite. But is it just a fling and fun affair? After all, she couldn't possibly marry a man of Adarlan, and she did not exactly imagine a forever with Chaol anymore. And as for the Fae prince, Rowan Whitethorn...well HE is just hopelessly in love with his queen, who did not seem the least bit interested in him - too busy hooking up with the Captain of the Guard to notice Rowan's longing looks.
