A young girl escapes to her hiding place to avoid the raging fight her parents are having. Unfortunately her haven is a rowboat on the lake shore near the cabin they have rented for the summer. When Chrissie falls asleep, the boat drifts to another part of the large lake and settles against the beach at the bottom of a hill where a large house sits. Will someone be able to help her get home to her parents?

"You have Leukemia. It's a type of cancer. With the right treatments, we might be able to rid your body of it. The success rate in children your age is around 76 percent. We did catch it pretty late though." The doctor said. I swallowed. I felt a tear slip down my face. Then rage filled me. I jumped up and hit the doctor in chest, not enough to hurt, just enough to get the feelings out. The tears were flowing freely now. I kicked the examination table and the other chairs in the room, I threw papers from the desk onto the floor, and finally I threw the door open and ran through the hallways, knowing my mother and the doctor were chasing after me. I turned a corner and ran into the lobby. A few people stared at me, and I ran outside, not caring where I was headed. I just had to escape this. But the harsh reality was that I couldn't escape it. I was dying.

This storyy tackles topics of unhappiness and unfulfillment through two English men named Yusef and Declan. They are stranded in the middle of the ocean with only two almost empty flasks and no food or water. Death is becoming a greater possibility, but the two men show vastly different behavior in accepting their fate.

A short story about a man taking an impromptu nighttime stroll around a lake park as he encounters the sinister prospect of crime and murder in the form of an abandoned rowboat silently floating in the middle of the lake.

"I had this whole speech planned. I was going to tell how we worked as one and it was great here, but in all honesty I would be lying, and that's just not my style. However I can say, I've spent four years of my life here. 1 was seventeen when I came and I'm finally twenty. I can't remember a point in time where I stood in these hallways and felt good. I felt scared and alone because everybody that I came in here with is gone. My entire life I have been the super genius, and then I came here and I was like everybody else. It turns out my best friend she rocked this place. She got in out of here in three years. I imagine her traveling the world in honor of me. I've spent every week discovering myself. I've spent every week telling myself on this day you will be proud and it turns out I am. I am extremely proud of the growth I've made from day one. Every single one of us should be because we've made it. We've survived and nothing can break us. We made it. As we step foot at of these walls we need to remember the friendships and the bonds that we've made because those are what make you feel alive. Congratulations!" I said stepping off the podium with my diploma. I took my seat as we threw or caps into the air. I saw a stein muscled hang grab a hold of mine. I looked down to see a face I didn't expect to see. "PEYTON!!" I screamed and jumped into his arms wrapping my legs around his chest and my arms around his neck. "Rowboat!" He yelled. "I've missed you" I whispered with tears coming to the surface as he put me down.
