Run. That was all I could think of. I have to get out of here as fast as I can but I can't run anymore. I have to stop. Being a maid in the Hathaway palace is no picnic. The king rules with an iron fist and not just over his people. Us maids and the guards literally each get a turn to walk through his fury daily. He is never satisfied. Today was my turn. Apparently I didn't make sure his clothes were steamed properly, since part of my job was to do the laundry.
