Marinette and Roy are forced to attend a gala by their 'uncles'. They get off on a rock start, but they form an agreement, if neither of them want to be their, why should they? Let's just say it was an interesting night.

They were taking care of of the goons while Batman took care of Joker. In the hassle Batman didn't notice when a beam came to him as he knocked joker unconscious. It's Marinette's first day at Gotham Academy and she can already tell things aren't going well. Old memories from the past stalk her and she can barely keep a grip on reality. She finds herself juggling between dreams and memories as well as the cruel truth of reality. A cocoon of loneliness is quick to wrap her in its embraces. Feeling lost and alone, she tries her best to stay positive and stop being anti - social for Adrien. But it's easier said than done. Akumas had a hard hit on her social life, as did Lila Rossi and her old classmates. Knowing she's in the City of her birth father can't soothe her, especially as all she knows about him is his last name is Wayne. A common name, according to her. This is a Maribat fanfiction.
