Theodore "Ted" Anders is twenty-five, miserable, and out of options.
A car crash stole his parents, shattered his athletic future, and left him limping through a life that feels smaller every year. With his brother enlisting and his childhood friend Lydia long gone into The Dungeon, Ted finally decides to follow through on his only lingering promise: "I'll think about joining you someday."
Someday becomes today.
The Dungeon-an entire world sealed inside ancient black monoliths-reshaped civilization. People who enter can't leave, but they're reborn with new bodies, new classes, and a chance to start again. Some become adventurers, some settle into slow rural lives, some build kingdoms. Others become monsters.
Ted?
He's lucky. He stays human.
Unlucky? His starting class is Beast Tamer, and its first skill is literally Pet.
But things change when Ted's first monster is a stitched-together, button-eyed teddy bear who calls himself Buddy. He hugs. He squeaks. He plays a tarnished toy trumpet that somehow buffs party members. And he is absolutely ride-or-die for Ted.
As Ted reunites with Lydia-now a proud, four-hooved centaur warrior-he begins carving out the quiet life he never got to have. Adventuring, foraging, learning skills, building friendships...
A slow life with a teddy bear.
But the Dungeon isn't just whimsical beasts and cozy settlements. Ancient factions stir. Forgotten threats wake. And somewhere out there, something remembers Ted's name-even though he's never been here before.
A soft, slice-of-life LitRPG with heart, humor, wholesome companions, and the occasional crisis that refuses to stay buried.
