After the final battle between the Mythic Knights and Sheldivine, the world was reborn. But just as things were settling in the new world, a new enemy was accidentally released from his prison by the Rangers themselves. A being of shadow and chaos, Sir Shadow, who wishes to destroy the universe and rebuild it into shadow. The Rangers must now stop this new foe, only to discover that Lady Light, a being of light and order and Sir Shadow's archenemy, also wishes to end the world. Now, the Rangers must defeat both beings of light and shadow before their world and the whole universe is destroyed. While try to stop both sides of light and shadow, they will be aided by the beings that created the entire universe, the original Rainbow Knights themselves.
