In the shadow of rising darkness, being noticed can be dangerous.
Stan Shunpike has always wanted to seem important. Just a conductor on the Knight Bus, he fills the silence with exaggerated stories and half-truths until one careless night in a crowded pub changes everything. When he boasts about knowing secrets of Lord Voldemort, the wrong ears are listening.
Arrested by a desperate Ministry eager to prove it's winning the war, Stan is thrown into Azkaban as a supposed Death Eater though he is nothing more than a fool who talked too much. But in a world ruled by fear, innocence doesn't matter.
As the cold grip of the Dementors begins to erode his sanity, Stan learns that some mistakes cannot be undone. And when he is finally freed, it is not the rescue that awaits him but something far worse.
Controlled by the Imperius Curse and forced into the service of the very darkness he once pretended to understand, Stan becomes a pawn in a war he never chose.
Because sometimes, the greatest danger isn't being powerless it's being seen.
