After the death of Titus Mede II, the Empire was left without an Emperor, leaving the Elder Council to thwart off the tyrannical Aldmeri Dominion, who raids the lands of Tamriel without mercy. The Elder Council finds it prudent to find a new Emperor of Tamriel, someone who can maintain order during the Thalmor occupation. It is the destiny of a hero in Skyrim to take the Ruby Throne and bring back to Tamriel a powerful dynasty.
