In hope's they'll find other variants of themselves willing to help them find and take down Eclipse and the Creator, Moon locates an unknown dimension and asks Sun to go check it out for him. But when Sun enters this realm, he realizes that he might not be able to get home. As he had gone through the portal, his communications with Moon were shut off, and he wasn't able to be brought back without help.
