5 teens, Lyn, Rex, Nora, Nick, and Piper, decide to run away from their crappy homes in Tonopah, Nevada. The 5 teens end up fighting for their lives as they try to make it to Manhattan, New York. As they get chased by an axe men and the police, they find abandoned warehouses, motels, and other places to hide, rest, and talk. They eventually run into a group of 10 other teens who were also heading for Manhattan, New York, Zoe, Amelia, Drew, Riley, Oakley, Shawn, Evan, Charlie, Roxy, and Roy. The decide to group up with them before having to split up, taking some of the other group with them, as they were in more danger than before in such a big group. They all will eventually meet up and change up groups, until the original group of 5 would have to go off on their own until the 2 groups get to New York.

After a fire that causes the death of fifteen year old Emily and nine year old Benny's parents, Emily doesn't know what to think of Batman because he let her father die. They runaway from Batman and Robin and learn to fend for themselves while hating the Batman for the wrong reason. Read to see if Emily and Benny learn what really happened the night of the fire.
