In the village she once called home, people know better than to ignore the sound of a drum after dark. After five years away, Noziphozamandla returns to the Eastern Cape hoping to bury the past. Instead, she finds a home that feels different, as though it has been waiting for her. Strange dreams become a nightly ritual, children sing where no children can be found, shadows linger a little too long, and something unseen follows her every step. As the line between the living and the spirit world begins to blur, Noziphozamandla discovers that her family's history is tied to ancient gifts, whispered warnings, and truths that were never meant to leave the riverbanks. The drums are calling her by name, and this time, they expect an answer.

Ruth Calloway took 412 photographs the day she found the house. When she uploaded them that night there were 413. The extra photograph showed the interior of a room she had never entered. She was standing in it. Ruth is a land surveyor. Twenty-two years of experience. The most methodical, precise, empirically-minded person I have ever spoken to. She is not someone who imagines things. She is not someone who frightens easily. She is not someone who calls strangers at eleven PM on a Tuesday to tell them what happened to her that day. She called me anyway. Because the house she found on a disputed parcel in Harlan County, Kentucky does not appear on any map. Any satellite image. Any county record going back to 1819. Because it casts no shadow despite being fully lit by afternoon sun. Because in the 1887 field notes of the last surveyor to document that parcel - a man who died four months after his survey at age fifty-one - a margin notation reads: "Do not go inside. I do not know why I know this. I simply know it." Ruth is fifty-one years old. She surveyed that parcel in February. She did not go inside. She is in the photograph anyway. And when she looked at the reflection in the wavy old glass of the window she was standing at - She saw what was in the doorway behind her. In a room she never entered. In a house that should not exist. ⚠️ Part of the ColdPresence universe. Set in Harlan County, Kentucky - the same county as The Whitmore Mansion. Can be read as a standalone story. Full narration on YouTube - ColdPresence. Link in profile. Don't look directly at things. Look from the side.

Content warning for mature themes For generations, the Callahan family has lived on the same stretch of land, a sprawling property surrounded by dense woods, abandoned buildings, and a history nobody likes to talk about. When Abigail Callahan returns home for a family gathering, she expects the usual arguments, old grudges, and awkward reunions. What she doesn't expect is the growing feeling that something is wrong. A figure is seen watching the property from the tree line. Strange messages begin appearing around the farm. Then someone disappears. As a violent storm traps the Callahans on their land, fear spreads through the family. One by one, old wounds are reopened, long-buried tensions rise to the surface, and a terrifying presence known only as The Hollow Man begins stalking the property. But the deeper Abigail digs into her family's past, the more she realizes the danger isn't coming from outside the Callahan estate. It's coming from something that should have stayed buried. Now, with nowhere to run and no one left to trust, Abigail must uncover the truth before her family's darkest secret claims them all. Some legacies are built on blood. Some secrets refuse to die.

When the emerald fire fell from the sky, the world didn't end. It woke up. Eli Blackfox, a quiet horticulturist with a gift for coaxing life from stubborn soil, expected nothing more than a peaceful night watching an asteroid pass overhead. Instead, he and Renata witnessed the sky rip open, the earth shudder, and a strange green haze roll across the Amazon like a living breath. By morning, nothing was the same. Plants turned to watch them. Animals bowed. Even insects behaved with eerie coordination, as if answering to some unseen signal. Eli's greenhouse - once a sanctuary of sunlight and soil - becomes the first place where the truth reveals itself. The plants aren't just reacting. They're communicating. They nod, gesture, warn, and even protect. Some are gentle. Some are curious. Some are fiercely loyal. And some... are hungry. As governments scramble to understand the impact, curfews rise, and fear spreads faster than the green haze, Eli and Renata find themselves at the center of a world reorganizing itself. The soil pulses with a heartbeat that isn't human. The plants whisper among themselves in a language just beyond comprehension. And for reasons no one can explain, they look to Eli - not as a caretaker, but as something more. Chosen. Trusted. Needed. But awakening brings more than wonder. It brings danger. For every friendly bloom, there is a thorn. For every gentle sprout, a predator waits. And the ancient intelligence stirring beneath the earth has plans of its own. Eli never asked to become the bridge between species. He never asked to be the one the plants listen to. But the green is rising - and the world is listening. Some plants are good. Some are bad. And some... are becoming something entirely new. In a world reborn, survival will depend on who - and what - you trust.

Time doesn't really make sense here. Neither does space. How did you get here? When did you get here? No one will ever answer your questions, so it's best to just not ask Timbaland is a wonderful and sprawling national park, filled with wildlife and guests and unexplainable things the park rangers will pretend not to know about if you ask. Just make sure not to stray off the trails when you aren't supposed to and keep away from the restricted areas, and you should be safe. Most of the time. Overnight camping is at your own risk.

don't read this. just shitty writing. But if you insist. A short psychological horror story set in a rice field under a clear blue sky... until the crows arrive. A boy sees his mother in the field and goes to meet her-what he finds instead is a haunting twist that will stay with you. Not everything is as it seems. And sometimes... thunder never follows lightning. P.S.: This picture of imagination came when my mom gave away one of my kittens to her friend's daughter without my permission. Dramatic? Yes, I'm very. I was very upset and betrayed. (lol)

From the soot-stained spirits of the industrial revolution to the nameless things that haunt the family farm, these tales are designed to linger long after you've closed the app. Lock your doors. Put out the candles. The 1900s are calling, and they aren't finished with us yet.
