In a village where the river remembers names and the soil listens, silence is never empty. Noziphozamandla (Gift of Power) returns home carrying a grief she does not yet understand-unaware that death has already crossed her path, that her bloodline hums with secrets older than language. At night, the drum begins to speak. Soft at first. Patient. Calling not to her ears, but to her spirit. Children chant where no children should be. Shadows move without bodies. And something small watches from the dark, waiting to be acknowledged. Rooted in South African ancestral lore and whispered truths of witchcraft, When the Drum Speaks is a slow-burning, unsettling journey into the unseen, where amadlozi (ancestors) walk beside the living, gifts are inherited in silence, and ignorance is the most dangerous curse of all. Some stories are read. Others are answered.

Amelia never wanted to move to the country. She expected silence, empty roads, and a boring new life far away from everything she knew in Iowa. Instead, she found something much worse. A town where people carry guns like it's normal. A father who starts acting stranger by the day. A school filled with people who feel like they're hiding something. And deep in the woods surrounding the town... something is watching. When Amelia meets Jillian, a quiet girl with too many secrets, everything begins to change. Strange disappearances, late-night warnings, a brutal attack that leaves her father fighting for his life, and the growing feeling that someone-or something-is following her. As Amelia digs deeper, she discovers the truth about the town is far darker than she ever imagined. The police aren't ignoring the crimes. They're distracted by the creatures that come out at night. Now trapped in a nightmare of secrets, fear, and survival, Amelia must decide who she can trust before it's too late. Because once the truth is uncovered, there's no going back. And some secrets were buried for a reason. If you've found this story... Turn back.

When the emerald fire fell from the sky, the world didn't end. It woke up. Eli Blackfox, a quiet horticulturist with a gift for coaxing life from stubborn soil, expected nothing more than a peaceful night watching an asteroid pass overhead. Instead, he and Renata witnessed the sky rip open, the earth shudder, and a strange green haze roll across the Amazon like a living breath. By morning, nothing was the same. Plants turned to watch them. Animals bowed. Even insects behaved with eerie coordination, as if answering to some unseen signal. Eli's greenhouse - once a sanctuary of sunlight and soil - becomes the first place where the truth reveals itself. The plants aren't just reacting. They're communicating. They nod, gesture, warn, and even protect. Some are gentle. Some are curious. Some are fiercely loyal. And some... are hungry. As governments scramble to understand the impact, curfews rise, and fear spreads faster than the green haze, Eli and Renata find themselves at the center of a world reorganizing itself. The soil pulses with a heartbeat that isn't human. The plants whisper among themselves in a language just beyond comprehension. And for reasons no one can explain, they look to Eli - not as a caretaker, but as something more. Chosen. Trusted. Needed. But awakening brings more than wonder. It brings danger. For every friendly bloom, there is a thorn. For every gentle sprout, a predator waits. And the ancient intelligence stirring beneath the earth has plans of its own. Eli never asked to become the bridge between species. He never asked to be the one the plants listen to. But the green is rising - and the world is listening. Some plants are good. Some are bad. And some... are becoming something entirely new. In a world reborn, survival will depend on who - and what - you trust.

don't read this. just shitty writing. But if you insist. A short psychological horror story set in a rice field under a clear blue sky... until the crows arrive. A boy sees his mother in the field and goes to meet her-what he finds instead is a haunting twist that will stay with you. Not everything is as it seems. And sometimes... thunder never follows lightning. P.S.: This picture of imagination came when my mom gave away one of my kittens to her friend's daughter without my permission. Dramatic? Yes, I'm very. I was very upset and betrayed. (lol)

Time doesn't really make sense here. Neither does space. How did you get here? When did you get here? No one will ever answer your questions, so it's best to just not ask Timbaland is a wonderful and sprawling national park, filled with wildlife and guests and unexplainable things the park rangers will pretend not to know about if you ask. Just make sure not to stray off the trails when you aren't supposed to and keep away from the restricted areas, and you should be safe. Most of the time. Overnight camping is at your own risk.

In the frost-bitten Weald of Kent, veterinarian Jess Harper brings home one more broken creature - a tiny polecat-ferret kit with eyes too bright and a bite that won't heal. As an unnatural sickness sweeps the countryside - foxes staggering in daylight, badgers with silver-disc eyes, deer smashing their skulls against iron - sixteen-year-old Mia tries to nurse the kit back to health in the dead of night. What crawls out of the cage is older than the hop fields themselves. It wears the skins of Kentish omens: the black dog, the Hooden Horse, the watchers that have always lived between the skeletal poles and the black woodland. It speaks with wooden jaws. It tastes human blood. And it is no longer alone. The First Bite - a raw, sensory horror origin story where the old things of the Weald finally come home.
