This story follows the life of Oscar Otter, a Russian soldier during WWI as he observes and takes part in many of the events that made Russia what it is today. Oscar watches as the Tiger is dethroned and is replaced by Moon as the animals of Russia try and figure out how to save themselves from their terrible mess. When it comes down to it Oscar wonders: was it all worth it? Disclaimer: This is a project that I did for my World History class that my friend said I should publish. I am still working on fine-tuning it and have yet to edit it very thoroughly. I will also be working on expanding the story more. The assignment was to write a fable about what happened in a revolution of our choice and I chose the Russian Revolution. It was required to be a minimum of 2,000 words and mine ended up being more than 12,000.

Dancing bears, painted wings, things I almost remember and a song someone sings, once upon a December. It's 1906 in St.Petersburg, the world is alive and the Grand Duchess is only 5, a shared look between her grandmother, a knowing smile, a cry of longing and a music box, their little secret. She's leaving for Paris without Anastasia. It's 1917, Anastasia is 16, adored by everyone, the youngest of the Tsar's daughters and she is the picture of beauty. That is until the Bolsheviks attack the palace and the royals are taken to Ipatiev house in Yekaterinburg. They are never seen again. It's 1918, the Romanov family are woken during the night and told to dress, they are being moved to a safer location. They walk down to the cellar of the Ipatiev house, awaiting the arrival of their transport. It never came. They were executed right there in the cellar, no Romanov was left alive. It's 1927, and there's a rumour in St. Petersburg. Although the Tsar did not survive, one daughter may be still alive, the Princess Anastasia, but please do not repeat. This is the companion novel to the 2017 Broadway musical, giving insights to the story, and telling a much darker, historical twist to the enchanting tale. (please be mindful this is historic fiction and just a random idea i got) Leaping from a makeshift cot built by the Bolsheviks and running into the dark woods of Yekaterinburg Russia, Maria Romanov, fourth daughter of the last Tsar of Russia finds herself on a train to her country's new capital of Moscow. Scared for her life, her future and what happens if the Bolsheviks find her she takes on the name of Mashka Alexandrovna, a combination of her nickname and her mothers name.

The year is 1917. The Great War has engulfed Europe and Asia, and all the major powers are at war. Russia is turbulent and violent; food is running low, supplies are vanishing, and young men are being killed in battle. The people are angry and their hatred is directed at one man: Tsar Nicholas II. In the midst of the worst war the world has seen before, Tsar Nicholas Romanov is trying desperately to cling to the vanishing strands of control he had over Russia, the same control his family has had for the last three hundred years. But with foreign nations, the nobles, and the people waging war against him, Nicholas must manage to keep him and his family safe and alive. A fictional account of the final years of the Romanov family and the final years of the Imperial Russian monarchy before the upheaval of the Russian Revolution, the story of the struggling Romanov family and their close household servants showcases how family ties, loyalty, and hope are too strong to relinquish even in the face of tragedy.

As Russia is torn apart by civil war, a wealthy couple struggle to find their place.

I'm a history nerd and I need something to post when I don't have a work or art, so I figured I'd do something I love: history. The Romanov family went to visit Romania in 1910. Alexei and Ileana met, and soon fell in love. Alexei promised to return and marry her. But four years later horror struck Europe, World War I. Throughout the war Alexei and Ileana's love burned strong and pure, but soon they would be torn apart forever. Alexei's father was over thrown and the family was exiled to Siberia, then murdered in Ekaterinburg. Rumors circulated that Alexei and Anastasia had somehow managed to escape. Ileana had faith that her love would return and waited for twenty years until she was finally forced to marry Archduke Anton of Austria. This ended in divorce as did the two following marriages. Princess Ileana eventually realized that she would never be happy without her true love and devoted the rest of her life to the only solace she had, God. She became a nun and founded the first Romanian Orthodox nunnery in America. She died after a long life of suffering. Now she is known as Blessed Mother Alexandra and he is a canonized saint, passion-bearer, and martyr. But what if things had been just the slightest bit different?

When a rumour starts seeping through the cracks and back alleys of Petersburg, Dmitri and an ex-count team up with an unusual, amnesiac girl to snatch a wealthy reward and get out of Russia for good. Of course, absolutely nothing goes to plan.
