Wizards Beyond Waverly Place follows Justin Russo, a former wizard who has chosen to live a normal life with his wife, Giada, and their sons, Roman and Milo. His ordinary life changes when his sister, Alex Russo, brings Billie, a young wizard with powerful abilities, to him for training. Justin must return to the magical world and become Billie's mentor while trying to protect his family and keep his past as a wizard from taking over his new life. As Justin teaches Billie about magic, they encounter magical adventures, family challenges, secrets, and a mysterious prophecy. Together, Justin and Billie begin a new chapter of the Russo family's magical legacy.

Two stories in one. First involves a magical illness, the other a Wizarding abusive relationship.
