When a pup is between the ages of 8-13 they go through their first rut or heat, which determines if their an omega, beta, or alpha, how to tell the difference is, heats are painful and make the omega clingy, ruts aren't painful and make the alpha tempered, with male omegas it can make them very dominant Being a beta is the best outcome because you don't have to have heats or ruts. Every alpha has its own pack. When a pup is 13 they join their first kids pack but when their 19 they join their forever pack. Every wolf has a scent gland in the back of their neck.
