Dear Friends, The Fat Director's Railway had more than three engines. In fact there were six big engines that ran the mainline. You know Gordon, Henry, and Edward. The rest are 98462, or Alfred, 87546, or Crovan, and 10916, or Joseph. Just my late contribution for the 75th anniversary of the Railway Series that started on May 12, 1945. This is an Awdry style "book" based on how he wrote and it consists of four stories set in 1923 just before the events of the first book of the series released 75 years ago called The Three Railway Engines. I tried adding small references and parallels as this book is meant to be a prequel to The Three Railway Engines. I hope you enjoy it.

Hard times befall the island of Sodor and the current head of The NorthWestern Railway is forced to lease one of his families engines. The choice falls on Henry, the Green Engine. He gets leased by a German woman to run a line in her home country. There Sodors number 3 faces new challenges, meets new engines and some even become his friends. This is the first book of a three part series. I hope I found all typos and if you find some please let me know. A one off by me created in response to the SiF Blog posts' made last year when SiF created its own 'Great Railway Show' in response to the latest event that was the highlight of that years Thomas & Friends special. User Loey Machan for the 'Best Dressed Engine' chose for his candidate to be the MR's 2511 class. A class made in America brought to Britain to help with the backlog of work following a large workers strike. Later on the class was entirely scrapped quietly by the LMS. Upon learning this I wanted to bring to life their story, this was the result.
