So in my version, after Buck is struck by lightning and falls into a coma, he wakes up but with complete retrograde amnesia - no memory of his life, his name, his job, or most painfully... no memory of Eddie. Eddie, who's been by his bedside the whole time, watching machines beep and hoping Buck will wake up, is devastated when Buck opens his eyes and looks at him like a stranger.
