From 1999 to 2005, Light reigned over the world as a "God" and a mass murderer known to the world as Kira. Meanwhile, more than halfway across the world, Marie tries to live her life as any other person would, as she deals with loss, fake friends, lies, and the effect that Kira has placed on the world. In 1999, not only does Light find the Death Note and decides to use it to rid the world of evil, but Marie tries to get by as propaganda rises with the Y2K scare. The propaganda dies down when Kira rises and Marie is convinced her prayers have been answered. However, she doesn't know the monster that Kira will become.

One year after the events of Death Note, a 17-year-old soon-to-be 18-year-old Gothic girl and wannabe witch named Anna Marie Monroe moves to Japan with her acquaintance, Christy Grim who dreams of starting a singing career. Marie tries to get used to the different lifestyle in Japan compared to how different it was in America since she has no desire to return until she graduates from her senior year of high school so she can be able to get over her breakup with a fellow classmate named John Michaels. Everything seems to be going normal until Marie finds a Death Note which contains the power to kill anyone whose name is written inside of it. Marie is hesitant at first but then starts killing the world's most dangerous criminals and meets someone she only thought she'd meet in her wildest dreams.

Aria expected an ordinary job as a graduate in Criminology. Instead, she works as a secretary for the infamous detective, L Lawliet under the name Ryuzaki. The more Aria works for him, the more she learns the man underneath. He becomes a puzzle she slowly solves. When L takes on a new dangerous case, he enlists Aria to be actively involved in the case. Soon hiring Light to bake for him. Light one day finds a notebook left by a customer. Long Description; Light Yagami, a 21 year old baker and the son of a police chief. Meets a 28 year old male detective that works for no one but sometimes with the police on certain cases. This male goes by the name of Ryuzaki Rue but is anonymously known as L , who is in love with Yagami's baking. The two aren't close at all... But! Ryuzaki makes sure to visit the bakery everyday... Once Ryuzaki figures out that Light is the Baker of his favorite pastries. He well, not threatens him but "kindly" asks Light to make him a cheesecake and a few pastries... [Definitely does not force him] One day Light Yagami finds a notebook, seemingly left by a customer. The notebook having the words 'Death Note' in a fancy font on the cover. Light browses through this odd book.. Only to discover that it belongs to a shinigami by the name of Ryuk and that he is able to murder one with a heart attack or a cause of death... He believes this could benifit the world in many ways by getting rid of bad people such as murderer's, thiefs and so on, making it a better place. After doing this for multiple days, Light is given the code name Kira still being anonymous to his fans. Ryuzaki starts to realize that Light is acting a bit different. After a bit this causes Light to become a suspect for a certain case for one of his customers.... Ryuzaki... Although, Light starts to like baking for this poor postered man... Yet is prone to believe they are destined enemies.. Since Ryuzaki is #1 of the worlds greatest detectives...

Ryuzaki Takayuki's childhood was taken away from him being a descendant of Satan. He has been hunted by priests and Satan's personal hunter. Ryuzaki is tired of running and hiding. He's out for revenge.
