Giyuu has been bottling up his feelings, trying to turn them off to get rid of the sorrow that he has been feeling since final selection. He thought the best way to do that, would be to never get attached again. To avoid everyone and everything. The Hashira never paid much mind to him. They thought he was just arrogant. Giyuu finds a demon that can grant wishes, Giyuu wishes for Sabito to come back to life its been weeks and still no sign of Sabito, at this point Giyuu gave up and thought the demon just lied, but when he over hears some demon slayer talking about a pink haired boy at the butterfly mansion Giyuu runs into the butterfly mansion to see Sabito unconscious.

Shinobu and Giyuu have unrequited love for others, and Shinobu wants to change that. She wants him to love her, and she wants herself to love him. But its impossible to force it, and Giyuu knows this.
