This story is how I imagine Castiel from Season 4 and Dean from Season 1 might interact. A lot of people say, "Season 4 Cas would make Season 1 Dean his bitch," so I wanted to capture that vibe. Angels are not supposed to have soulmates. It was impossible. Soulmates was a human thing and they were far from that. Yet one day Gabriel felt a slight pain and knew at once... from years of watching... that it meant he had a soulmate. Gabriel became accustomed to the pain since it kept coming. When he finally meets the man they go through a world of trouble. Finally deciding not to be together they break it off and God is furious. He comes up with an idea that'll ensure they stay together... they were meant for each other... afterall that's how he planned it.

But if there's one human he'd enter into such a close bond with, it's Abby Singer, the Winchesters' hunting partner and adopted sibling. Whenever he's around them, he feels things he's never felt before, and as strange as these new emotions are, he doesn't want them to stop. Unfortunately for him, Abby isn't the most receptive to his presence. They've been stubbornly opposed to his awkward attempts at friendship ever since they first met. In fact, it feels like he's the only one who can't seem to forge a relationship with the prickly hunter. Even more unfortunately, it doesn't seem to matter anyway, because another angel has already beaten him to it. Now with approximately 75% more fluff (er, "down").
