Ode to the lost and the lonely

There was five of us. Sometimes more. It depended on how fast life picked us off. Once in a while, someone would get better, normally we would waste away. Some were stronger than others. Some easier to fall, some destined to fail, or maybe both. There was five of us. We kept each other in balance. Sad kids who wanted death, but didn't want to die.
