Nine friends decided to go camping on the night after their high school graduation. 1940, WWII, England. London. The great victim of the blitz. One man has had it harder than most. His name, Arthur Kirkland. Can his partner, Alfred, comfort him?

Leigh Jacobs is just a normal girl on the outside, but on the inside she is filled with secrets. her home life is not a joy to live, if you know what I mean. School is average for her, and her looks are a bit above. And love? She has it, secretly. Asher Clark was once her boyfriend, untill they allegidly "broke up." But did they actually break up? And why is she so afraid of her mother, afraid enough to keep most of her life a secret? "I hate not being able to hug you like this during the. I hate not being able to show you off to my friends." He murmured into my hair. His hands stroking it gently. "I hate it too. But you know we have to. I hate to even think about what would happen if anyone found out...if my mom found out..." I shook my head, trying to clear it of those thoughts. "I know, I know. But I still hate it." He pulled me in tighter, his arms a barrier around me, protecting me from the outside world. "Me too," I really do hate it. It;s awful, having to be with the one you love in secrecy. He pulled back a little to look at me, and I saw a smile creep back onto his face. "So, you think I'm smart, huh?" I mock-glared at him and he put one hand to him chest in moke-pain. "Yeah, a smart-alec!" "That hurts, Leigh, that really hurts!" He exclaimed with fake hurt in his voice. I started laughing and so did he. I made my eyes go all big and tilted my head to the side a bit, "But you still love me, right?" He pulled me in even tighter than before and missed my head, murmuring, "Of course I do L, I always will." He put one gentle finger under my chin and tilted my head up. He leaned down and planted a warm, soft kiss on my lips. "I'll always love you, Leigh." he mumbled against my lips. "No matter what happens."

Do you ever have those nights where the mood lighting is perfect, the music gets you in the feels, and you just let your mind wander? I tend to around midnight, or in the very early hours of the morning. Each chapter in the story was written during a night I let my mind wander off to whatever topics it wanted. However, in letting my mind do that, I transform not only my thoughts, but my surroundings into a story format and scene so it's easier for the reader to understand what I see, think, and hear. Every part of this "book" is my thoughts so I assume not everyone will agree with me since it's constructed around my opinions. Though I don't say that to turn you off from reading, I just wanted to say that I don't mean to offend anyone. Please keep the community peaceful and respectful. This is simply my mind's journeys at midnight that offer me peace at mind the next day and help keep me grounded to Earth. A step back from everyday life, into reality, to see things for what they truly are.
