This is a poem that my father wrote to me before he passed away a few years ago. The poem is talking about abuse and trauma. I still believe he was using his words in this poem to reach out for help.

It was all over and we were free, Cali and I we're walking up the light illuminating staircase. Sparks were flying from her hand to mine. "We're safe" she said we were standing halfway through the stairs on a platform and her amazing lips formed a happy small smile. Her black hair was tucked behind her ear and her brown eyes looking deep into my soul.
