Years after the Bakumatsu, a bloody revolution in Japan, a red haired girl named Akasuki saves Kaoru Kamiya from being killed by a guy claiming to be the legendary Hitokiri Battosai. After, she helps Kaoru save her dojo and ends up staying with her. The two quickly become best friends and soon add a new student of the Kamiya Kasshin style: Yahiko Myojin. Then one day, she encounters someone who she'd been looking for ever since the Bakumatsu ended.

Souji Okita, martial arts champion of Hakuouki Highschool professionally trained in Judo, Karate, and Kendo has a goal to reach the World Martial Art Championships in two years time. Therefore what does one do in a desperate attempt to claw back their rapidly disintegrating dream? They find a tutor. Meet Saito Hajime, Vice President of Hakuouki Highschool's student council and top academically performing student in his year group along with a polished pastoral record, he has an overall outstanding school record. Nova begins her life as a waitress by day and club dancer at night to make ends meet. Saito had it all, the money, the fame, the power, but he didn't want any of it. After his mom died, he wanted nothing to do with his dads company, but his dad refused to let him do anything else. His dad was abusive and controlling one to many times, so he ran away with his best friend to America to escape his dad. He hid himself in Maine, knowing it was the last place his dad would look for him. Unfortunately his dad has eyes and ears everywhere and sends someone to look for Saito. Nova helps hide Saito, after his friend convinced her. But soon her rude and unwanted house guest grows to be something more. (I'm sorry for this crap summary. I'm still working on the details in my story. I will make it less like a soap opera when I have a clearer vision of what I want. Just please bear with me.)
