But because or his wounds, he's unable to come home, his mother making sure her son stays away from his abusive father. Though Travis thinks that Sal is just a faggot, a sinner and a guy he can bully without consequences, he can't ignore his feelings towards his savior. Similarly to Travis, Sal notices this thing in Travis he can't describe.
