However, Sal gets a little too close, and some dreadful feelings arise. Now the issue is trying to figure out how to drop the hints without "incurring Travis' wrath", whether that would actually happen or not. Meanwhile, Travis struggles to keep himself from fighting these changes. Everything is new, his brain is very stubborn in trying to reject it. He can't understand why he suddenly wants to follow along, and he hates that he does, but he lets it happen. Unfortunately this doesn't come without consequences. OK ew cheesy description this is an "AU" where it's just SLIIIGHTLY more realistic. Like, without big snot monsters and shit, and the cult isn't as powerful. So, not much different, but more room for a happy ending. Also sal's pagan, cause why not? ⚠️‼️ This will contain: depictions of domestic abuse (obviously), alcohol abuse, self harm, intrusive thoughts, disordered eating, planned murder, death threats, homophobia (obviously), conversion therapy, drugging, and memory manipulation. Larry had a dirty secret. One that made him seem like a freak. It wasn't something as easily explained as an extra finger or lost limb. No, he couldn't explain this to even his best friend, Sal. However as things start to heat up between Sal and Larry, some news may be released to Sal that he has a hard time believing. That is, until his love interest disappears without a single trace.

" The Escape of Hope " is also a boy; a boy named Sal . He , Sal , helped Travis find his true self , helped him to not live in the shadows , the shadows of his father , and forced religion . But ... Travis will still continue to be haunted by his past , every time he looks on the deep scars on his arms . Remembering all the pain he 's been through . All the pain that his dad put him through . All the sorrows and cries of his past self . Will he go back into the depressed mindset of his past self ? Will his own escape watch him fall apart ? Fall apart in front of his own very eyes .. ? It's senior year for Sal Fisher and his friends, and what should've been scary movie nights, exploring Nockfell, late-night guitar sessions, and parties in the basement of The Addison Apartments quickly turn into something stranger. The town still hums with secrets, buried deep in its soil, people, and silence. When Sal reaches out to Travis, someone he once kept at arm's length, what begins as a tentative connection starts to deepen. Although things were once hostile, Sal sees something in him that others overlook, something worth knowing. And when Travis sees something he wasn't supposed to, uncovered, unmasked, and up close, it doesn't drive them apart. Although everything ends up changing. In the midst of many growing connections, things thought to be once settled begin to unravel. Sal starts having nightmares again. Larry, the group skeptic, swears something's watching them. And Todd's research starts pointing to things the group thought they'd buried for good. Ash, unsettled and confused by the paranormal, is unsure what to believe. But something in Nockfell never died.
