She heads back to Mystic Falls when she hears word that Grayson Gilbert (her father) died from an animal attack. But when she returns all of her many secrets including the biggest one are put at risk, thanks to the Salvatore brothers.

After Elijah realizes Elena has turned off her emotion he has decided to help her. Upon arriving back in time Elena decides not only will she change the fate of her family but hers and Elijah's relationship.
