Xie Jiahua leaves his old life behind, taking up a professorship in Agriculture at a university in Kowloon City, running as much from his broken engagement leaving Xie Jiahua hollow and numb. One night, he drowns his loneliness in a quiet downtown bar, only to be bumped into by a young man who's clearly just as lost as he is, Lu Guangming. There's an instant, unspoken pull-sharp, reckless, and impossible to resist. They share a night of raw, unhurried comfort, no names exchanged, no promises made. Xie Jiahua leaves at dawn, telling himself it was just a moment of weakness, something he'll forget by the time he starts his job in a new city.
Three days later, he steps into his lecture hall, and freezes. In the third row, sitting straight and watching him with careful eyes, is Lu Guangming.
