A childhood friend of Sam and Dean Winchester's is brutally murdered by a demon, leaving behind his two small children and pregnant wife. The boys are called over to assist her investigation in the murder because the demon has taken possession of a local boy who had disappeared the week prior. Dean knows the young widow from a hunt he and John went on shortly after Sammy went to school, but it's Sam who ends up developing a deep bond with her and her children. He denies all this, as he's painfully aware of what happens to any girl who grows to be sweet on him. Octavia is kind of like their "double agent". Even if she doesn't have all of the powers she had before, she's still on the inside, and she is willing to help her friends. But when she finds out God doesn't care, will it lead to Ava's complete alienation from the Angels? Zane is back from Hell. Again. And to make up for the wrongs he has done alongside Ruby, he is going undercover himself, working for and against the Demons and Lucifer, so he can make it up to the Singers and the Winchesters, who can never be certain if he'll ever try to double cross or betray them again.
