Roxanne has always lived near the Sandlot. Ever since she could run and catch. Making friends along the way like Smalls, Ham, and Yeah-Yeah, she didn't need to worry about anything. Her life was great, absolutely amazing, she had no care in the world. Until Benny Rodriguez moved right beside her. That's where it all went downhill. And not just that he moved, but he took over her sandlot. They instantly became best friends when June moved in across the street from him and she started playing baseball at the sandlot. They have also had huge crushes on each other since the day they met. Though, nobody knows about it. Not even the boys at the sandlot know about it. It's weird that nobody knows about it, especially when you consider that their crushes are painfully obvious. One comment from Phillips and June's cousin Nancy, who is staying in town for the summer, make their crushes obvious to everyone. How does that happen? A group of girls, who all like playing baseball, teamed up and decided to play together. When they started playing at the sandlot, they all agreed it would be their everyday playing spot. There was just one problem with that.. there was already a team playing there. Once both teams met up at the sandlot at the same time and ended up budding heads, what did they do the resolve the problem? And how close would they end up getting over the summer?

The summer of 61 was so tough for you that you can't wait for the summer of 62. Benny will make sure that everything is perfect for you.
