This "season" Calliope speaks of is one of many reasons Sarah somewhat hates being a part of southern high society. It's the time of the year when young unmarried men take time off from managing their businesses or come back from studying at university and the women come back from University and etiquette school to find a proper partner. Every event; dinner parties, brunches, horse races, galas, grand balls, and even picnics are all set up for the children of cotton kings, sugar barons, steel moguls, oil, and railroad tycoons to find each other and get married. Sarah doesn't mind the events, she doesn't even mind the suitors' request for an audience with her. She just hates the pressure of it all. This is her second season of all this and she has yet to meet a suitor that stimulates her mind. They all offer the same thing and say the same thing " Along with my many estates I could greatly enrich your father's business" Sarah just wants to hear something new.
