Zahra lives by the border between Zon and Bloemenveld. A war has started between the two countries and the Zon government is making everyone one move if they are in a fifty mile radius of the border. At the moment that is all of Zahra's worries, leaving her childhood home and into the city. Everything changes one day when out of nowhere Bloemen people come and kidnap her and her mother, killing Zahra's father in the process. Zahra is traumatized by seeing her father die right in front of her, and gets PTSD whenever she sees the chestnut colored hair or the X tattoo everyone Bloemen person has. She is now forced to work in the Bloemen prison when she finds something, a hole in the fence, that will figuratively and literally saves her life.
