I wrote this poem on November 30, 2011. It is dedicated in memory of my childhood friend and first love, Nick. We were both bullied tremendously and while I am alive, the scars remain on my wrists as testament to the pain words can inflict. This poem is dedicated to Nick and all of the others that take their lives because of bullies. Reasons for bullying are unknown, but pride and shame prevent apologies. If you have ever bullied someone, even on accident, make it right. Differences don't warrant death... If you see someone being bullied, step in. Be a hero. If you are being bullied, stay strong and hold on. Things will get better, I know because it happened for me. You will find happiness and peace!
