But once Bridget and Kase are paired, Nuevo Victoriana's alien protectors, the Ragnari, take an intense interest in their courtship. Bridget finds herself drawn into a world of intrigue and royal machinations she can't begin to navigate on her own. And when her fledgling AI discovers the Ragnari are hiding a secret big enough to undermine all of Nuevo Victoriana, Bridget will need to work with Kase to stop them. Otherwise, the world as she knows it will no longer exist.

The trial comes in form of a game that they must play to defeat other Hoopers from opposing divisions, all fighting for the same cause. A better life, a place where they could live freely and where they would not have to buy Oxygen. The trial comes with suffering, pain, tears, killing and massive destruction. But there must always be a hero to save the day!

Soon after opening the book they realize everything has changed when their world is suddenly spun out of control and darkness starts seeping in. with the help of their new found abilities they strive to stop the prophecy from ending their world. On this journey they will encounter many foes and allies but will it be enough to stop an interdimensional evil in its conquest for war and bloodshed.

A short story I wrote years ago, in which the human race must resort to forced amputations, using their limbs to "fuel" the dying sun. I was inspired by how the Aztecs made human sacrifices to the sun, but I added my own twist.

And when you throw love into the mix.... well that makes everything more complicated ;)
