The land of Britain has never been one simple to rule, for thousands of years kingdoms fought for dominance between each other but when the Roman's came in, after a few tries, they dominated the centre of the country, from the south coast to the northern border of Hadrian's wall. This land, is Esma's history her ancestors battled to stake their claim and now it was her turn to make the ultimate sacrifice for the good of her people, she's used to being independant, but that was before the Roman came to claim his Rose.

All is not what it seems in this tale of Viking/Anglo-Saxon lust and love... I wrote this story after being inspired by a photo of a young woman in Viking dress using a spindle. I wondered what it would like to be her. Here's the result. I hope you enjoy it!

Her unknown attacker grabbed Lydia by the throat, picked her up into the air, and smashed her into the Devil's Hollow tree. Her breath caught in her chest, she began gasping for air, stars danced in her blackened vision, and loud bells rang assaulting her hearing. The hand around her throat tightened, denying Lydia the chance to catch her breath. Maniacal laughing sounded in the air around them. Lydia could not believe it, her attacker was laughing, she was dying and her attacker was laughing. Lydia is trapped in a deadly game of cat and mouse, can she win or has her time ran out?
