And then who will pick up what is left of me and bury me?" Robert asks, "It'd be your fault that I died because you didn't come!" Robert teases as Benny shrugs. "Fine, but we come back after one hour." Benny compromises. The two boys shake hands and start walking towards the beach.

Ten Years have passed and the only ones Ivan ever "talks" to these days are his little sister, Lilly and his mother. One night after a major storm occurred on the surface. Ivan decides to venture to the top to satisfy his own curiosity. There he finds a man barely alive on a raft. Ivan ignores all the dangers he's heard about humans and saves the stranger. He continues to go up to the surface to visit the strange human and the only one who knows about his escapades is his little sister. That is until, she tells his ex-best friend, Leith.
