Elias Ramirez was taken from his family at only a few months old by his mother. His life was one of chaos, neglect, abuse, and confusion. He never understood why his parents didn't care about him like all other parents do. Why he would see parents hugging their kids, and taking them on trips. His own parents never did that, they never talked to him unless they wanted something from him, they never kissed him on the cheek or kissed his scraped knees. He doesn't understand what the word love meant. Growing up in an abusive home for his entire life taught him to only rely on himself, and to not let anyone push him around. After his mother died at the age of 8 he was left alone with his stepfather. His stepfather never treated him with love or care. He treated him roughly and taught him to never trust anyone. After the murder of his stepfather at the age of 11 he ran away. Scared of people he changed his identity completely. Hoping to never be found. Never be tied down to that identity for all the secrets it carries. Will he be so lucky? Or will he get caught. Oh did I forget to mention he has 6 older brothers actively trying to find him? There he meets a boy named Isaac who shows him a world where they can inhabit in to escape from this cruel world we call reality. ~okay, so I wrote this for my creative writing class and altered it a little. The theme was to choose a children's story and rewrite and change it basically only change the characters, setting, genre etc but keep the plot the same. So for my story I chose Bridge to Terabithia, even though it's a lot different and darker. It's basically my own version. If you cried watching/reading bridge to Terabithia and don't want that experience again then maybe steer clear of this story.. Just forewarning. But anyway thanks for ending up here and I hope you give this story a chance, it's not the best and I'm new at this but I tried. Please enjoy~

Ava has always handled her depression and the taunts thrown at her well, but will this year be too much?
