LeyBinder is a series depicted in the Realm of Elderwyn, a once united continent and empire where the mortal races of men, elves and dwarves live in peace and harmony... But was shattered by the fires of a great civil war and conflict after the death of the great and wise Emperor, Ravyn Asterwood. The series tells the story of Valerine White, an orphaned girl studying to become a full fledged mage, earn a living through magic and buy her freedom from the White family who "adopted" her to become a maid at the family's inn business - but little did she know that the intricate fabric of fate will set her in an adventure of her lifetime... ...A journey full of discovery and danger as she navigates a path riddled with factions, assassins, spell work and a threat that could destroy a kingdom and drive the mortal races of Elderwyn to extinction... As tides of Shadowborn from the Ever-Shrouded North rip the very fabric of reality, Valerine, with the help of friends and allies, must uncover the truth behind her past and embrace her identity as the last heir to the Asterwood Bloodline, the only mortal lineage capable of controlling mana at will - the Last of the LeyBinders. Will Valerine be able to master the powers of her bloodline in time to prevent the Shadows from consuming the land?

One empire fights for its soul. The other fights for its ledger. Canton, 1839. The Pearl River is a graveyard of secrets, choked by the hulls of British merchant ships and the sweet, sickly scent of "Foreign Mud." To the West, opium is the perfect commodity-the silver-maker that balances the scales of the British Empire. To the East, it is a poison dissolving the Mandate of Heaven. When Commissioner Liang Wei arrives with a mandate from the Emperor to choke the trade at its source, he sets a match to a powder keg that has been dry for centuries. Four lives collide in the smoke: The Patriot: A rigid moralist who believes righteousness can outgun a fleet. The Merchant: A pragmatist who views addiction as a mere variable in a balance sheet. The Scholar's Son: A brilliant youth whose descent into the pipe mirrors his nation's decay. The Court Insider: A survivor who knows that the loudest voices for war often hide the deepest corruption. From the opulent tea houses of the Thirteen Factories to the blood-stained decks of the Royal Navy's steamships, The Opium Wars is a sprawling epic of systemic collapse. In a world where honor is traded for silver and morality is obscured by a cloud of white smoke, there are no heroes-only the survivors of a century of humiliation. History is written in ink. It is erased in blood.

Welcome to my American Days' Journals! I do not particularly have any talent in writing things up from scratch, especially not my own experience as a Fulbright scholar, but you have got to start somewhere, especially if you are too afraid that you'll forget what you believe to be the time of your life. I warn you that this piece of writing might turn out to become a journal article in the end, not that I am really good at writing those either, but I am now here to get better at it anyways. So, it seems, it will be two writing types I want to get better at eventually. This fact came as a shock to me as well, when after a Stanford football match, 1,5 weeks into my scholarship period, I jumped into bed, fired up my laptop and just felt the urge to type. Just to be absolutely clear, I am not a fan of expressing myself in speech, neither do I like writing blog entries or too long chunk of texts that are not academic in nature. And to be honest, sometimes an academic text is just a pain to write, too. Pure pain. If my researcher colleagues all around the world read this, they know what I am talking about. If my close colleagues read this, then I am joking, ofc. So, let's get to it, as it is late at night and tomorrow I have an early Dragon boat practice.

Ako yung typical "ate" sa isang bahay. Nagaasikaso sa mga kapatid at gumagawa ng gawaing bahay. You know the drill. Which is one of the requirements to be able to apply for the scholarship of this school. Kung di naman ako scholar, di ako papasok dito eh. Maybe I was just lucky. Just to clarify, we are not poor. But we are not that rich either. After enrolling to this school, my life will be changed due to some of the schools rules and regulations. Want to see how it turns out? Keep on reading... Hello, readers! I'm still in college so updates aren't regular. I added fiction in the tag, cause we all know that only lucky people get to have handsome siblings and everything that comes next.

I used to feel ashamed about writing on Wattpad. None of my friends knew that I wrote on here. Funnily enough, now that I'm older, I've discovered that many of my friends also used Wattpad in their teens. There's no reason to be ashamed about using Wattpad. As a university student studying Wattpad for part of my thesis, I argue that this platform shares similarities with other parts of literary history. Read to learn more!

Jovial one, friend Hurbek, come drink with us. Hurbek, the god of fire and friendships, known as the jovial one, never kept temples. He was served by innkeepers and blacksmiths, and Hurbekian worship often was indistinguishable from a night in a rowdy dwarven alehouse. Young Frek knew that he wanted to serve the Jovial one. A god with no temples caught his imagination when he was just a small boy, and that passion never wavered, but since his father, an alcoholic, died in a drunken brawl, his mother was terrified that her eldest son would end up going the same way. A shorter story in six chapters about the work and worship of the god Hurbek and how anyone, even those who loathe alcohol and the damage it can do, are welcomed and supported by holy Hurbek. This story, although technically a part of the wider Four Realms series of tales, can be enjoyed independently if readers desire. Although a little bit of minor world building might be missed, nothing is so essential that the story cannot be enjoyed independently. Note that the cover image does not belong to me.
